Recruitment of the autophagic machinery by the acid-labile polyrotaxanes exerting intracellular release of #methylated β-cyclodextrins

Conclusions: It is suggested that intracellular release of methylated β-CDs by the acid-labile Me-PRXs promotes the induction of autophagy and autophagic cell death (Figure 1). Since the regulation of autophagic activity is potential feature to treat autophagy-related diseases, the acid-labile Me-PRXs would be expected as an effective approach.
