In this manuscript it is shown that, without introducing any mask in the optical path, the intensity of light wavefront can directly be used to recover quantitative information of flow through which light has traversed through. The direct captured images (focal stack) are used to reveal the phase variation of out-coming light wavefront from the flow. At instance, the procedure used here gives an alternative to other existing flow visualization techniques; however it demands high dynamic range camera. Higher dynamic range is important because the minute variation in intensity due to light passage through a test object is important to reveal the phase variation of light wavefront. Tomographic reconstruction of density is done by using the recovered phase data and it shows a good agreement with CFD for the same.
