One of the major problems in Nigeria is the lack of good power supply and this has caused a lot of set back both for industrial and home usage. The problem of electricity is being solved by alternative energy source. The peculiarity ofNigeria as a nation showed different climatic conditions. There is need to study the effect of the climatic conditions on the materials that are used for renewable energy infrastructure. Acid rain is common in the riverine and industrial areas of Nigeria. Hence the need to study the effects of acid rain on the infrastures for renewable energy construction in Nigeria. The selected materials understudy are the commonly used materials for the construction of renewable energy infrastuctures. The electrochemical study of aluminium alloy 6063, austenitics stainless steel 316 and duplex stainless steel 2205 were studied using autolab potentiostat equiped with NOVA software. Tribocorrosion study was carried out in a slurry pot using simulated acid rain medium. The tribocorrosion results obtained using the slurry pot agreed with the static corrosion result. The result showed that the corrotion rate of 316 were higher. The overall results of tribocorrosion and electrochemistry obtained by Tafel polarization and linear polarization with weight loss were in agreement with the passivity breakdown envisaged due to the science of tribology.
