TiVCr alloys known for their potentially large hydrogen uptake were formulated as (TiCr_(1.8))_(100-x)V_x in order to quantify the effect of vanadium concentration. Parallel to this series of pure ternary systems, a 2nd series was synthesized with 4 at.% of Zr_7Ni_(10) added. Electrochemical charging with hydrogen reveals a fair dependence of hydrogen uptake and hydride stability on the x(V) content, which is different in the presence of the Zr-Ni additive.
