Comparison of frequency estimation methods for heterodyne quantum communications

We compare digital frequency estimation algorithms for the purpose of accurately estimating the channel frequency in heterodyne quantum communication systems. Our results indicate that estimating the frequency in time domain is preferable compared to frequency domain methods for this application.
