The paper reviews research data of hybrid system of reactive power compensation for Metro electric power substations. Comparative compensation analysis has been made and control system for suggested device has been developed, besides mathematic simulation has been carried out as a result of which power factor of substation has been increased from 0.5 to 0.97-0.99.
