A surgery scheduling model based on surgery grading management system

摘要

In a surgery grading management system, surgeries are classified according to their operation difficulty and the complexity, surgeons' qualification is divided based on their experience and educational level, and a surgery of certain difficulty could only be done by a surgeon of certain qualification, therefore the operation risk cost could be reduced. When implementing surgery grading management rules in the scheduling model presented in this paper, the higher surgery grade is, the closer the date of surgery is required, thus the delay risk cost could be controlled. This paper focuses on finding a surgery scheduling model using the result of surgery grading management rules with the objective of minimizing the delay and operation risk costs. And real data from a A-A-A general hospital is used to test the validity of model. The computational result shows the model could reduce the medical risk and guarantee the quality and safety of health care.
