Sensor model is required to build the relationship between the three-dimensional (3D) object space and two-dimensional (2D) image space of high resolution satellite imagery (HRSI). However, each satellite sensor has its own imaging system with different physical sensor model, which increases the difficulty of geometric integration of heterogeneous images with different sensor models. Therefore, it is critical to generate generic model especially rational polynomial coefficients (RPCs) of optical imagery in the processing to Ziyuan-3 imagery. In this paper, a practical framework for generation of RPC model for Ziyuan-3 imagery from rigorous sensor model (RSM) of HRSI is proposed. Experiments with Ziyuan-3 (resolution: 2.1m), demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach.
