In Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) utilizing the fast Fourier transform (FFT) technique, a high Peak-to-Average-Power-Ratio (PAPR) appears at a transmitter and causes signal wave distortion due to the nonlinearity of the amplifier. Namely the system performance degrades and power consumption increases. In the proposed PAPR reduction techniques, there is an application of the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) which is not FFT, and the fast Hadamard transform (FHT) using a binary Hadamard matrix. This paper considers OFDM with FHT using a complex Hadamard matrix including a binary one applied to complex pseudo-random numbers. Their PAPR characteristic and Bit-Error-Rate (BER) performance are investigated in the view of the matrix order and the output phase-number, and the effectiveness of the complex Hadamard matrix is shown.
