This paper examines user interface issues in mobile services. Experiences from the development work of a mobile connectivity service are compared to published recommendations for small interface design. It is concluded that for a multi-channel mobile service, it is crucial to provide similar content with different access methods. By designing applications to enable easy one-handed navigation, applications can be kept simple enough to ensure that multichannel delivery - porting to different environments, screen sizes and devices -does not require unreasonable effort.
