摘要

The paper proposes a prototype of an Intelligent Collision Avoidance and Driver Assistant System. It avoids vehicle accidents by detecting obstacles and provides a greatest security to the driver in drowsiness condition and communicates to the other vehicles for safety alerts in different scenarios. Here, Ultrasonic sensor and IR sensor placed in the car for front obstacle detection and ambient obstacle detection respectively. While the obstacle is detected by continuous distance measurement which is carried out by microcontroller, the system starts applying the brake within a safe limit of 50 cm, The warning is provided using buzzer to the driver to take a safe action to avoid collision. The lane departure protocol is also designed and maintained in the system by checking the respective indicator status. The inter vehicle communication is done by broadcasting safety messages using RF modems with controlled flooding feature. The ARM 7 TDMI microcontroller is used for controlling purpose and information data is displayed on LCD.
