Accurate modeling and stability analysis plays a vital role in all Electrical Power Systems (EPS) specifications. Stability criteria as defined by Middlebrook, is based on impedances of the interacting systems at interface point (i.e. source output impedance and load input impedance). This led to an enormous research on the impedance extraction for ac and dc systems till date. Accurate impedance measurements are hence required to validate modeling procedures as well as measure the stability of the interconnected power systems. This paper presents ac impedance extraction for source and load in three phase power systems using ABC-DQ0 transformation with utilization of fast Fourier transform (FFT). Results obtained prove sufficient matching with those of analytical and switching models hence validating impedance extraction technique.
