摘要

In recent years, BIM technology has brought great changes to the construction industry, but its application in railway engineering has just started. This paper analyzed the different characteristics between railway and other engineering construction. By comparing traditional construction method with BIM technology, it deeply analyzed the BIM application process and advantages in the whole life cycle of railway engineering. As a result, it proved BIM could make up for the shortcomings of traditional method in the railway engineering construction and operation. In addition, this paper studied the reasons about the slow development of the current railway BIM. Finally, it put forward that BIM will lead railway construction to a higher level development of informatization and intelligent.
