CPM schedule management requires a better way for public and private companies to manage complex construction schedules. It takes sophisticated users to update and manage the system; project specifications are very prescriptive for what needs to be included, but the rules are rarely followed. Valuable time is wasted getting baseline schedules and schedule updates approved between contractors and consultants. This paper will research best practices for construction schedule management and seek innovative ways to collaborate on schedule management. The paper will also address how performance metrics can create transparency and accountability throughout the system with the integration of the concept of knowledge transfer, best practices real-time analysis and performance metrics.
