In this study, a novel material discrimination and propagation time estimation method for buried objects using a microwave radar has been considered. In the present paper, a simultaneous evaluation method of a material and a propagation time based on the cross correlation processing is proposed. As a result of verifications on a material discrimination, the proposed method has a high accuracy discrimination performance for metal objects and has an enough discrimination performance in shallow location for resin objects has been confirmed. In addition, on a propagation time estimation, a robustness of estimated propagation times is considerably improved by using the proposed method.
