Investigation of the effect of preliminary mechanical processing themixes of magnesium with amorphous boron (Mg + 2.1B) on majorparameters of the thermal explosion and phase structure of the formedreaction products has been conducted. The mechanical processingparameters providing realization of the condensed phase thermal explosionregime are defined. Results of X-ray phase analysis and electronmicroscopic studying the mechanically treated mixture components andreaction products of thermal explosion are presented.
