We introduce a statistical method based on Gaussianization to esti-mate the nonlinear calibration curve of a hot-wire probe, that relatesthe input ow velocity to the output (measured) voltage. The methoduses as input a measured sequence of voltage samples, corresponding todierent (unknown) ow velocities in the desired operational range, and(only) two measured voltages along with their known (calibrated) owvelocities. The novel method is validated against standard calibrationmethods using data acquired by the Technion's wind-tunnel laboratory'shot-wire probes, as well as other calibration data available in the litera-ture.
