1. We have studied the estimation of Malmquist productivity and its decomposition using two-stage frontier estimation methods2. Relationship between best-practice and average-practice distance function estimates is multiplicative and depends on statistical assumptions3. The statistical assumptions only affect EC and TC estimates, not MPI and SEC.
