Instructional Software as a Tool for Teaching Basic Concepts and Methods of Automatic Control

摘要

System information engineering students attending automatic control courses usually face problems to understand abstract theoretical definitions, intensive numerical methods and alternations between interrelated domains. An instructional software designed to facilitate the understanding and learning of automatic control analysis and design basic objectives is presented. The addressed issues are absolute stability, steady state error and transient response. The teaching experience was evaluated by means of a survey answered by the students at the end of the 2014 course. The instructional software was considered by them a useful tool for learning automatic control basic concepts and methods.
