Micromechanical analysis of S-glass fiber reinforced epoxy composites isperformed. The effect of strain-rate is modeled adopting a rate-dependent constitutivemodel for the composite system. It is computationally formidable to simulate anycomposite structure accounting for the microstructural details entirely. In the presentresearch we develop a parametrically homogenization based continuum damagemechanics (PHCDM) model for composite failure. A composite plate under pressurewave is analyzed in ABAQUS with PHCDM model incorporated into user-subroutine.
