Radar resource management study for multifunction phased array radar

TRS-4D is the latest generation of the naval radars of Airbus DS Electronics and Border Security GmbH. TRS-4D is a multifunction radar for sea and air surveillance and target acquisition, operating in C-band. The radar is based on the latest Active Electronically Scanning Array (AESA) technology. With its capability to switch rapidly beam direction and waveform in combination with multiple functions, effective radar resource management is of major interest. The paper gives an overview of development and analysis of radar resource management methods for the TRS-4D radar. The study for radar resource management considers an incremental functional extension of the TRS-4D functions and conceptual analysis of resource management strategies before implementation in the radar system.
