A HDRI display algorithm based on image color appearance model

This paper analyzes a variety of HDRI display algorithms and the best iCAM06 algorithm. Becauce of the limitation of the high frequency information in the mapping of iCAM06 algorithm, we propose an improved strategy, and get a new HDRI display method. By using wavelet transform and inverse wavelet transform as well as wavelet base and wavelet decomposition method, a HDRI picture iss decomposed and reconstructed. Then, the image compression is accomplished via the color adaptive transformation, the local contrast adjustment and the cone response mapping. Finally, by using two popular methods, the results of this paper are compared with the iCAM06 results. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively display the HDRI on the common monitor and solve the problem of the iCAM06 algorithm.
