The combination of the large amount of data available today and the tools necessary for processing make up what is known as big data. Although the term big data refers to the size of the data sets to be processed, also it implies the need for real-time analysis when we receive massive data flows, and the ability to handle a wide variety of structures, numerical data, textual data, links, ... . We must handle data whose volume, diversity and complexity require the use of new architectures, techniques, algorithms and analytics to manage and extract value and hidden knowledge. So we talk about the 3 V's (volume, velocity and variety).
