In this paper, we examine the impact of design collaboration on a fashion supply chain. Motivated by the real industrial practice, the fashion supply chain consists of one designer and one supplier, who trade via the revenue sharing contract. We consider the designer inputs the creative design and the supplier provide technical design on product development. Both design efforts increase market demand. We identify the optimal design efforts in such a fashion supply chain. Our finding provides the important evidence that how the designer and supplier should input the design efforts, respectively. We discuss the managerial insights on design collaboration management.
