Study on Fostering College English active learning

摘要

The purpose of this article is to introduce some approaches to develop students' autonomous ability. Teachers should design and organize various activities to prepare students for more independence and responsibility. The author firstly presents some problems in traditional teaching students with non-English majors. Then, the paper presents the practical ways of teaching based on the learner-centered approach. It's expected that the teacher, an effective instructor and good facilitator, can help students read actively and grow into creative readers.
