摘要

Second harmonic wave in the microwave range is generated by nonlinear effects in a plasma-metamaterial composite. The metamaterial is an array of double split ring resonator whose negative permeability range includes the frequency of the fundamental wave. Asymmetry that induces the second harmonic wave arises from plasma inhomogeneity, and we compare the experimental results with theoretical prediction.
