摘要

This paper presents a Second Order Sliding Mode Controller (SOSMC) to mitigate LFC issues of two area power system in deregulated environment. Normal SMC suffers from chattering problem, due to this the control performance of the SMC is affected, while designing a SMC for LFC problem, the output system response affected by chattering. This chattering introduces unwanted frequency signals in output response of the system. To overcome this chattering effect this SOSMC is proposed. The performance of this new SOSMC is tested on multi area deregulated power system and performance compared to normal SMCand conventional PI controller for one possible contract scenario.
