1. Airline operational performance is tracked closely both internally and externally 2. In general airline performance is good when operating conditions are good When operating conditions are poor, perturbed, or irregular - airline performance can suffer....sometimes significantly 3. Adverse aviation weather is dominant contributor to constrained operating conditions and associated degradations in airline performance.... 3.1 And yet there is no consistent and robust accountability for weather impacts and its variability by airline, month-to-month and year-to-year, and given different types of weather impact events 4. Presented today several "weather accountability" methods, metrics, models, and tools that can begin to complete this portion of the airline performance story 5. Opportunities extend from here - measures for airline operating performance are multi-faceted and complex; opportunities to leverage these data and approaches for: 5.1 Improved messaging with stakeholders and flying public 5.2 More constructive, data-driven collaboration with FAA 5.3 More informative, customized "inward-analyses" on lessons-learned / best-practices when faced with adverse weather.
