Numerical Study of Density Effect on JB-9014 Equation of State of Detonation Product

Numerical modeling were carried out in this paper to simulate the semispherical JB-9014 driving experiments, in which the cooper shells with 2mm thickness were impacted by explosives with different densities. The comparison of experimental data shows the free surface velocity of the OFHC shell increase with the IHE density clearly. Empirical adjustments on detonation velocity and pressure and Pier Tang's adjustments on EOS of detonation products were both introduced in our work to investigate the density effect. The agreement between our model and experiment is excellent, and the numerical results with original parameters and the adjusted ones of JB-9014 could describe the density effect distinctly.
