摘要

GIS and remote sensing have been applied in wide range of fields. Medical geography is a common aspect in the world but still rather new in Vietnam. This application was very effective with communistically epidemics which closely related to environmental conditions, both natural and socio-environment such as: malaria, dengue fever, avian flue, goiter, cholera diseases, etc. or asthma and lung cancer. Study results were risk maps and prediction maps in which space and time of distribution of epidemics can be determined. These maps are good referenced for monitoring epidemics and making decision for prevent epidemics in Ly Son Island, Quang Ngai province, Vietnam. In the report, methodology for study with example of malaria and dengue are presented. These typical epidemics are very different in vector born and in medical aspects.
