The future electricity market is challenged by deregulations, new technologies and changes in the production mixvia e.g. intermittent production. One key to manage such challenges is demand side flexibility. It is found that thecompensation needed to systematically “reschedule” and control the household electricity use is considerable andmeasures to about several hundreds of euros annually. Moreover, the “price” for demand flexibility largely dependson when, how and about what households we think of.
