Accelerated Construction Delivers SR 288 Bridge Replacement in Seven Days

This project replaced a severely deteriorated concrete arch bridge carrying SR 288 over WampumRun in Lawrence County, PA with a 78’-0” long rolled steel beam structure on integral abutments. The paper willdescribe the innovative ABC design and construction techniques used in order to minimize the inconvenience tothe traveling public to just 7 days. The bridge features prefabricated elements, precast substructures and 3-twobeam modules connected using Ultra High Performance Concrete.
