Square helium cylinder has been formed by using thin pins as angular vertexes to connect the adjacent sides of polygonal soap films. The Richtmyer-Meshkov instability behavior of the helium cylinder has been studied in shock tube experiments. A set of high resolution schlieren frames showing the wave system and the interface evolution is gained by a high-speed schlieren system. Present study is the expansion of the classical RM instability of shock-bubble or shock-cylinder interaction. Other shapes of polygonal helium cylinders such as triangle, diamond and trapezoid will be formed and studied in the future.
