In this paper, results from comparisons of simulations and measuredoffshore data from a floating combined wind and wave energyconversion system are presented. The device is a downscaled prototypethat consists of a floating platform equipped with ten wave energyabsorbers and three wind turbines. The numerical model of the platformis based on the aeroelastic code, HAWC2, developed by DTU WindEnergy, which is coupled with a special external system that reads theoutput generated directly by the wave analysis software, WAMIT. Themodel also includes models for the dynamic mooring lines as well asthe turbines non-linear yaw and teeter motion behavior. The main focuson the comparison will be on the statistical trends of the platformmotion, mooring loads and turbine loads in measurements andsimulations during different operational conditions such as increasingwind speed, wave height and wind/wave misalignment.
