Due to the operation condition at the top speed of 500km/h, high-speed maglev train has extremely stringent requirements on stiffness and strength of its mechanical parts. Safety and availability of key mechanical components of the moving mechanism especially play an important role in the train's regular operation. In order to meet all relevant safety requirements of the operation, safety tests and safety evaluation of the key mechanical components must be carried out. Based on the FMEA(failure mode and effect analysis method) method, this paper carries out safety assessment on several key mechanical components according to the structural characteristics of the moving mechanism of high-speed maglev train. This study proposes a way to ensure the safety of the moving mechanism, and improve the safety of the overall system accordingly. The proposed safety assessment method can also provide a useful reference for the mechanical structure of other high-speed passenger trains.
