Investigation of rock anchorage failures and cutting remediation at Glyn Bends, North Wales, UK

Rock anchorages with double corrosion protection were found to have failed six years after installation. This paper describes the detailed investigation of the failed anchorages using several techniques, and provides the reasons as to why the anchorages failed in such a short period of time. Details of the remedial works and the salvage of the original anchorages are also given.
