The paper presents the impact that parameter estimation methods have on dynamic models used in control for synchronous reluctance machines (SynRM). The main parameters that will be analyzed are the d- and q-axis inductances. Also, saturation and cross-saturation phenomena and the impact of taking them into account when developing a dynamic model of a SynRM are studied. The SynRM considered for this analysis was designed with optimized flux-barriers shapes. For the dynamic model of the machine, Maximum Torque per Ampere (MTPA) strategy will be used.
