Heterogeneity is an intrinsic property in current and future wireless networks. Power control and allocation is one of the key technologies and the core content of the radio resource management for the heterogeneous wireless networks cooperative communications. In this paper, we propose a multi-objective power allocation scheme based on improved genetic algorithm for heterogeneous wireless networks cooperative communication system. The energy consuming and information rate of the system are simultaneously optimized. To improve the convergence performance of the genetic algorithm, we propose a novel genetic recombination and mutation method where the gene with higher fitness value is preferentially chosen for recombination, while the gene with lower fitness value is preferentially chosen for mutation. In addition, the mutation direction is determined by an adaptive-probability and a totally random method. Numerical results show that the proposed power allocation scheme obviously enhances the system energy consuming and information rate performance.
