Research on Device Management Mechanism for Smart Home Edge Gateway

In recent years, the maturity of cloud computing technology has greatly promoted the wide application of smart home. As the key function of smart home system, device management can not meet the user’s efficient and secure application requirements only relying on cloud platform. Therefore, this paper applies the idea and technology of edge computing to the field of smart home, and takes the gateway near the device side as the edge server, and on this basis, constructs the corresponding device management mechanism. The main work includes the construction of data centric device discovery mechanism and plug-in device control mechanism, which provides an effective solution for the problems of diversity, heterogeneity, efficiency of smart home devices. Finally, the corresponding prototype system is implemented and the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by experiments.
