Study on Cargo Products Layout Optimization of Busy Main Railway Line

Cargo products’ layout is one of the problems that need an important decision in freightrailroads. The purpose of optimization of cargo products’ layout on railway lines is to make a rationalcargo products plan to satisfy customers’ diversified transport demands. In this paper, a servicenetwork is designed using the method of node splitting. Then an optimized model isbuilt for the products layout problem on busy main busy railway lines. The immuneclone - variable neighborhood algorithm is used to solve the model. Finally, anumerical example was given to verify the model and algorithm. The result showsthat the model and algorithm are of good practical applicability.
