Increasing product complexity and technological advancement result in more complex failure phenomenon which makes failure analysis even more challenging. System interaction failure issues are getting more prominent in these complex systems and hence we a need more effective failure behavior modeling approach to understand system interaction phenomena. This paper uses a cognitive map based approach to model a fuel injection system and simulate the functional behavior of the physical system. The objective of this work is to generate system interaction failure information and supplement existing failure analysis process es.
