摘要

The paper describes use high energy compaction of powders for obtaining master alloy compositions to modify the structure of light alloy, such as based on aluminum. For the experiments the following compositions of master alloys were chosen: Al-5 wt.% TiB_2, Al-5 wt.% TiC and Al-10 wt.% Al_2O_3, base of master alloys was fine aluminum powder with particle size of 20 microns. Powder mixtures of given composition were placed in aluminum tubes 400 mm long and 20 mm in diameter, was hermetically sealed, and then carried out their detonation impact. Uglenit (commercial explosive) was used as explosive. It was established that the method of high energy explosion compaction allows obtaining high density master alloys (materials with a density close to the theoretical value). The microstructure, fine crystal structure parameters and hardness of the master alloys were also studied.
