A WAVELET BASED FLIGHT DATA PREPROCESSING METHOD FOR FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS ESTIMATION AND FAULT DETECTION

This paper proposes a new flight data preprocessingmethod, which add time series data to flightphase indexes. In addition, the method outputsvalues representing correlation strength amongdifferent types of data. The generated informationwill greatly supports flight characteristics estimationand fault detection, whose performancequite depend on the quality of their input flightdata. The effectiveness of the proposed method isdemonstrated with these two applications by usingthe real flight data obtained with fixed-wingaircraft.
