We developed a simple geometry model for the heat transfer calculation in the CPV receiver and cell and estimated the temperature and thermal stress of solar cell using a heat transfer simulator COMSOL. The thermal parameters of the model were modified by the simulated result of CPV receiver. We assumed two thermal conditions in this study. One is the thermal cycle test condition. Other is the outdoor operating condition. The thermal stresses of Ag electrode were estimated. In the case of both thermal cycle conditions, the maximum thermal stresses were generated at the bus-bar. The tensile stresses occurred at higher than 25°C, and the compressive stress occurred at lower than 25°C. The maximum thermal stress was generated at finger-electrode in the case of outdoor operation condition. The thermal stress of outdoor operation condition was lower than that of thermal cycle condition.
