An environmental problem in the World is the municipal solid waste (MSW)management. The landfills are the most used way for MSW disposal in developingcountries, but in the long-term can be a passive environmental, that produce leachate andemissions of biogas. Therefore it is important to search alternative methods for MSWtreatment as the bioreactor landfill and use biogas as energetic.Each landfill have special conditions for this is important to have information about thebest leachate recirculation (LR) condition for the biogas production (BP) and implement itat field scale. Therefore the objective of the project was to evaluate the BP a laboratoryscalebioreactors loaded with MSW from the Zinacantepec (México) landfill operatedunder LR regimes of 30%V and 40%V with frequencies at one and two times by week. Themaximum biogas and methane productions were to 40%V at one frequency by week,finding that the higher frequency of LR in 30%V and 40%V affect BP.
