High temperature solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) can accept the direct feed of hydrocarbon fuels which are reformed in the porous anode materials producing H_2-rich syngas, subsequently used to generate electricity and heat through electrochemical oxidation. This type of SOFC is called direct internal reforming SOFC (DIR-SOFC). Now we try to overcome problems associated with the DIR-SOFC, such as carbon deposition caused by internal reforming, by applying a flexible structured-catalyst called paper-structured catalyst (PSC). Here, recent progresses are summarized focusing on the catalytic activity of hydrotalcite-containing PSCs for the dry reforming of methane.
