This paper presents the PyRoprocess Integrated inactive DEmonstration facility (PRIDE) to demonstrate engineering-scale integrated pyroprocessing experiments using depleted uranium or surrogates at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). PRIDE is a three-story building composed of an air cell positioned on the first floor, and an argon cell constructed through the second and third floors. The argon cell dimensions are 40.3 m long by 4.8 m wide by 6.4 m high with 6-mm-thick stainless steel walls and a 10-mm-thick stainless floor, and it has a total volume of about 1,240 m~3. Research conducted at PRIDE will involve engineering-scale experimentation on both the unit process and integrated processes of pyroprocessing. The arrangements of various types of developed engineering-scaled processing equipment for pyroprocessing technology development installed in the argon cell are also described from the viewpoints of remote operability and maintainability.
