China has a vast territory and has many nationalities.For thousands of years the Chinese nation has created profound and diverse cultural wealth which provides inspiration and material for the formation and development of traditional Chinese architecture.Since the advent of the information age, there exists a phenomena called "convergence" in architecture.Under such circumstances, it is urgent for modern architects to explore the essence of regional culture and learn from it.In this paper,the author aims to discuss the laws of the development of regional culture and gives an illustration of how to apply them to architectural design in contemporary Chinese society.
