Research of Japanese Architectural Practice-Culture Mode and Reflection of China

China and Japan have similar traditional architectural culture of the wooden architecture, which represents East Asian culture that corresponds to West stone-built culture.Especially, people rebuild their shrine named Ise Grand Shrine every 20 years in Japan from 1300 years till now.By which Japanese want to express their respect for nature and their own traditional culture.Nowadays, Japanese architecture is considered as avant-garde and fashionable, at the same time, Japanese value ancient architecture protection and respect their own traditional culture.In Japan, wooden architecture does not only mean the traditional construction, like temple or shrine, but also be applied to residence, office building, school and so on.In the matter of material, Japanese have made considerable progress in fireproof wood and the durability.In some meaning, Japan serves an example that how culture promotes the architecture development.By contrast, China has long way to go.By rapid urbanization, cites is filled with concrete and there are few things can be called culture or tradition.Several ideas, such as regaining our traditional architectural skills, by which charm of Chinese architectural culture will able to be revived, is quit necessary at this time.
