This paper reports the impact of ocean waves and sea surface currents on the velocity of a running boat estimated by an along-track interferometric SAR (AT-InSAR). First, the performance of an AT-InSAR was verified and confirmed by observing a running boat equipped with a 50-cm square trihedral corner reflector and GPS in the range direction. Then, the impact of ocean waves and sea surface currents on the estimated velocity of a running boat was clarified by observing a running boat without the corner reflector at an angle of 90deg (the range direction) and 40deg to the flight direction. Finally, to precisely estimate the velocity of a boat, we developed an analysis method to decrease the influence of waves and sea surface currents from the estimated velocity of a boat.
